At EasyYTDown ("we", "our", "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the information needed to run the service, enforce the free daily limit, and fix problems:
- Download requests: when you download a video, we record the YouTube URL, the format and quality you chose, your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, your approximate country (derived from your IP address), the time, your account ID if you are signed in, and whether the download succeeded and was delivered.
- Visits: our server records visits to the site, including your IP address, approximate country, the page visited, the referring site, your browser's user-agent string, and the time. A small script also reports when a page has finished loading, which we use only to tell real visits apart from automated traffic. To count unique visitors without cookies, we derive a pseudonymous identifier from your IP address and browser that changes every day.
- Error logs: when a download fails, we log the URL, the error, and your IP address so we can investigate.
- Accounts: if you register, we store your email address, a hashed (not plain-text) password, and your plan. Payments are handled by Gumroad; we do not receive or store your card details.
- Contact form: if you contact us, we collect your name, email address and message so we can reply, plus your IP address and browser information to limit spam.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics, which collects information such as pages visited, browser type, and device information.
2. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and, if you choose "Remember me", a cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Google Analytics and our advertising partner also set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though signing in may stop working.
We show ads from Adsterra on some pages. Adsterra and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads.

4. Third-Party Services
- Google Analytics: usage statistics
- Adsterra: advertising
- Gumroad: payment processing for Pro subscriptions
- Webshare: a proxy service our server uses to fetch video data from YouTube. It sees the YouTube address we are processing, not your IP address
- Resend: sends our emails to you (account confirmation, password reset, purchase confirmation)
- Google reCAPTCHA: spam protection on the sign-up, log-in, password-reset and contact forms
5. Data Retention
- Downloaded files: temporary processing files are deleted automatically, usually within two hours. Finished files are kept in a server cache for up to 7 days so repeat requests for the same video are faster, and are then deleted automatically.
- Download records, visit records, problem reports and the download error log (which include IP addresses, video URLs and browser information) are deleted automatically once they are more than 90 days old. Before deletion, we keep only anonymous daily totals (for example, the number of downloads per day by format and quality, and the number of visits per day), which contain no IP addresses, URLs or browser details. For registered users, those daily download totals stay linked to your account so your dashboard can show your all-time total; they are deleted if your account is deleted.
- Password-reset and "Remember me" tokens are removed automatically once they expire.
- Server access logs (which include IP addresses) are rotated daily and kept for 14 days.
- Account data (email address, hashed password, plan) is kept while your account exists.
- Contact-form messages are kept until we have dealt with them and delete them; they are not deleted on a fixed schedule.
- Google Analytics and Adsterra keep data according to their own retention settings and policies.

6. Children's Privacy
EasyYTDown is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
